- After the Mutant Registration Act was officially deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court many people thought it indicated the beginning of a better world -- a world where humans and those with extraordinary powers could live side by side without fear. In the end, the first victory in mutant rights didn't ease tensions in any permanent way. Mutants who can hide in plain sight often keep quiet about their powers and the less fortunate find themselves exiled to the fringes of society.
Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters works hard to pick up newly manifested teenagers through the use of Cerebro. Charles Xavier is disheartened by the number of teenagers who chose not to go with him, already recruited by the Brotherhood which functions heavily in New York. Led by Magneto, the Brotherhood, still preaches about Mutant Supremacy. Opponents of mutants rights have a habit of dying early in their careers, especially in New York, and many suspect the Brotherhood. Currently the Brotherhood is only claiming responsibility for small acts of terrorism. Stores that refuse to serve mutants burn down in the dead of night and, more recently, in broad daylight.
There are humans who have withdrawn their support for the Registration Act because they find it too mild a way of dealing with the mutant problem. Some more extreme groups who believe the many decade old Sentinel project should be revived. While still strongly opposed by public opinion there are rumors that the Sentinel project is gaining traction as the Brotherhood grows more visible.
Disappearances of mutants are on the rise in several major cities. Some news stations decline to report on missing people if they are suspected mutants. In New York in particular evolved humans have taken to self-isolation in the area referred to as District X. Little do they realize some of them are being collected by their own kind as Hyperion reaches into the district and plucks the most powerful mutants. Many mutants blame humans for the disappearance or fear government experimentation. Those who do brush up against Hyperion are rarely heard from again, but both the X-men and the Brotherhood are becoming more aware of their actions drawing things closer to a tipping point.

X-Men Generation Hope is a Marvel based RPG site leaning heavily towards the cinematic universe and the Earth-616 comic universe. Our movie canon follows the rebooted universe idea dictated in Days of Future Past. This means while we adhere to most of the events in X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men 3, Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine as well as comic related storylines that fit into movie universe plot -- we are not limited to following the films to the letter. Days of Future Past allows Professor Xavier to alter some events, like saving Jean and Scott from their deaths. For a play by play of events please check our Timeline.
We welcome canons and original characters.
